Egyptian President Follows Up on Gas Exploration Activities

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting on June 23 to follow up on the petroleum sector projects, especially natural gas and crude oil exploration and production (E&P), Al Ahram reported.

El Sisi directed the government to increase exploration activities and widen exploration areas as part of the state efforts to capitalize on Egypt’s energy resources, according to the Presidency Spokesman Bassam Rady.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli; the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla; the Minister of Finance, Mohammad Moait; Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfiq, and General Intelligence Chief Abbas Kamel.

El Sisi also instructed the government to continue delivering natural gas to housing units and new cities, especially to high population density areas.
